We delivered the MVP of a cashback app in four weeks
We built a cashback app that gives users a convenient space for online shopping where they can save money.
- 4 weeks of work on the app
- Product Discovery workshop
- 60+ app mockups
- 3-person UX/UI design team
- detailed app prototype

Key goals and challenges
Beyond the deadline, it was important to the client to be able to test the app, and to make that possible we built a clickable prototype in Figma.
MVP approach
Together with the client we adopted an MVP product strategy that made it possible to test the business model at an early stage of the product’s life.
Tight deadline
Delivering the UX/UI design very quickly was our top priority, so that the product rollout could follow the timeline agreed in advance.
Prototyping
Before rolling the product out, the client cared most about being able to test it without having to build it. To that end we created a clickable prototype ready to present to target customers.

Design process
The most important thing in this project was testing the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) as quickly as possible. We’re known for our processes, and it was only thanks to them that we managed to deliver a finished UX/UI design in just four weeks, complete with a clickable prototype. That was exactly what the client cared about most - being able to run tests.
Workshop
In the Product Discovery workshop we ran, we worked through a series of exercises prepared by Wzór together with the Fonia team. We got to know the client’s business in depth - its edge over competing solutions, and its problems and concerns. We set the top priorities and the order in which features would be rolled out.
Information architecture and user flow
Information architecture (IA) is about organising, structuring and labelling content in online environments so that it is clear and intuitive for users. A user flow is a visual representation of the path a user takes through a product or service to complete a specific task or reach a particular goal. Both are crucial in designing user experiences that make using an app or website intuitive and efficient.
To design the best possible user experience, we look at the possible paths a user might take through the app. In FigJam we draw up detailed maps that we then analyse step by step.
Low fidelity
Low fidelity is an early representation of a design that focuses on functionality, structure and information flow rather than on detail and aesthetics. It lets us test the app and eliminate errors at a very early stage. For testing we use interactive prototypes in Figma.
GUI + Design System
Building a good design system that fits the Fonia brand was a key task - it means we’ll be able to grow the product easily in the future while keeping the consistency that matters so much to the overall user experience.
Presenting the app design
After creating a prototype based on the MVP, we designed the graphical interface around the company’s brandbook. We aimed to use user-friendly solutions, but also to give the app a distinctive design accent.
