Logistics & Fulfilment

We design operational systems for pickers, drivers and dispatchers, plus shipment-tracking portals for end customers. We work with the constraints of the real world - a scanner held in a glove, a screen in direct sunlight, a seasonal hire on their third day.

We have worked with leading companies and startups

Challenges

Seconds at the rack and at the courier's stop add up to the whole day's result

  • „Onboarding a new picker takes weeks, and turnover is high.”

Workflow research with experienced and first-week staff, redesign of the critical journeys (picking, packing, returns) around the learning curve. We measure task time and error rate before and after the redesign.

  • „At every stop the courier fights the app instead of handing over the parcel.”

Research in the courier’s van in real conditions (rain, sunlight, gloves). Redesign of the pickup/delivery screen for one-handed use, large touch targets and high contrast. We measure the time spent stopped.

  • „Customers call to ask where their parcel is, even though the status is in their panel.”

An audit of status messages (push, SMS, email) and the Track & Trace portal. Microcopy redesign for clarity: which parcel, where it is, when it arrives, where to collect it. We measure the drop in contacts to customer service.

Who it is for

WMS, TMS, last-mile - three systems, one chain

We hand over the design in a format the team implementing integrations with ERP, WMS/TMS systems and terminal devices (scanners, label printers, GPS) can read.

  • WMS and warehouse apps

Warehouse management systems for logistics and fulfilment operators - goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch. Integration with scanners, label printers and mobile terminals. The goal: shorter task times and fewer shipping errors.

  • TMS and dispatcher tooling

Transport panels for dispatchers and planners - route planning, real-time vehicle tracking, dynamic re-planning after an incident. A hand-off to the driver that loses no context, and an auditable trail behind dispatcher decisions.

  • Courier apps and Track & Trace portals

Apps for last-mile couriers - pickup and delivery, barcode scan, signature and POD photo, navigation, returns. Tracking portals for senders (B2B) and recipients (B2C) - status updates that build trust instead of drowning people in jargon.

Process

Five steps - from the first conversation to post-launch measurement

We scale the scope to the product. For WMS the emphasis is on tempo and fewer shipping errors. For TMS - on route planning, dynamic changes, and the hand-off between dispatcher and driver. For courier apps - on working on the move (scan, signature, POD photo) from a screen that is wet, dirty or in full sun. For Track & Trace portals - on status updates that build trust instead of flooding people with information.

  1. 30 min

    Discovery call - 30 minutes

Online, with the lead designer. We get to know the product, the metrics you judge it by, and the regulatory context it operates in.

  2. Week 1–2

    Audit and discovery

Analytics, session recordings, user interviews, heuristic review. The barriers people actually hit become design hypotheses.

  3. Week 3–6

    UX/UI design

Wireframes, a prototype you can click through, the final interface. Documentation written for the team that will ship it - tokens, states and responsive behaviour included.

  4. Week 6–7

    Validation

Tests with real users, or an A/B test in production. The design changes on the strength of what we saw, before it reaches code.

  5. After launch

    Delivery and care

We work side by side with your developers - implementation review, fixes, additions to the library. After launch we measure and come back with the next hypotheses.

Client voices

What our clients say

  • „Working with the Wzór team was a genuinely great experience! They always answered our questions quickly and were flexible about our comments. They have no shortage of creative ideas and are at the same time thoroughly reliable and on time. The end result fully met our expectations; we recommend them to anyone looking for professionals who care.”
Maja Wieloch-Silecka Operations Director, Bosfor Group
  • „Our clients expect us to act fast and effectively across a very wide scope - from building a brand, through a website with a store, to running an effective sales campaign. Not an easy task, but doable when you have a tight-knit team and partners who take on challenges on the fly. For us, quality, accountability and commitment are key, and working with UX Agency Wzór gives us that 100%.”
Piotr Alberski Chief Operating Officer, Agencja XO Media
  • „Our cooperation with UX Agency Wzór started with our own website. We really liked the way they work, so we decided to subcontract projects for our clients to them on a White Label basis. We loved their workflow, the way they hand projects over to our team, their documentation and their work on the design system. Now we can take on bigger risks.”
Mateusz Swół Chief Operating Officer, Sellace

FAQ

Questions that come up most often

Do you design for integrations with WMS, TMS and ERP?

Yes - we run operational interface design in the context of back-office integrations (SAP EWM, Microsoft Dynamics, IFS, custom WMS/TMS). We write documentation in a format that makes mapping fields onto objects and API calls easier. We understand the specifics of EDI and offline-first operation where warehouse coverage is poor.

Do you have experience with courier apps and scanners?

Yes - apps for last-mile couriers are a different problem from a consumer app. Touch targets designed for one hand and a glove, high contrast for direct sunlight, scanner integration (barcode, QR), POD (proof of delivery), offline-first mode. We measure stop time and the delivery error rate.

Do you also design for e-commerce fulfilment and 3PL?

Yes - fulfilment operators (3PL) have specific needs: multi-tenancy (one warehouse serving dozens of shippers), different SLAs per client, reporting and settlements. We design panels for the warehouse, for the 3PL operator and for the B2B shipper (order tracking, statistics, claims) as one coherent ecosystem.

How do you research a warehouse environment without interrupting work?

We work ethnographically - shadowing warehouse staff and drivers in their natural environment, contextual interviews between cycles, observation with notes instead of formal testing. For TMS and dispatch - sessions at the operator’s workstation during a shift. We do not stop the warehouse.
