We designed and launched one of the truly independent political news portals in Lublin.
Jawny Lublin is an online platform where the Lublin community receives important news from independent journalists. The key aspects of this project were easy access to information, an intuitive interface, and a crowdfunding system for securing funding.
During the workshops conducted for the Jawny Lublin team, three main goals emerged, with crowdfunding becoming the top priority.
Financial Support
Jawny Lublin, aiming to remain an independent portal, required funding. Together, we identified several sources of support, with the most important being crowdfunding, which the team had not previously considered on such a large scale.
Intuitive Design
Keeping users engaged on the site is crucial for a news portal, ensuring better results and increased involvement, especially in supporting the portal’s activities.
SEO Support
With a limited budget, Jawny Lublin invested significant effort into search engine optimization (SEO), and we provided the necessary technical solutions to support this goal.
Design and Implementation Process
We chose a fast-track process based on UX research, conducting both quantitative and qualitative research with the target audience.
During the workshops with the Jawny Lublin team, we outlined their key functionalities, mapped them out, and developed a plan for the portal's implementation. We also created user personas and conducted an analysis of the UX research.
Based on the collected information, we built the portal’s information architecture, user flows, and moved on to designing low-fidelity wireframes. We quickly incorporated feedback and conducted tests with portal users.
After the wireframes were approved, our design team developed several visual concepts for the Jawny Lublin portal. The lightest and most clear design was chosen from all the options.
Our development team implemented the UX/UI design using WordPress CMS due to its simplicity and the Jawny Lublin journalists' familiarity with the platform. Its optimization and the SEO tools we implemented achieved the main goal of improving the site's ranking on Google.

We delivered to Jawny Lublin an optimized and fast news portal with a strong focus on mobile version, SEO, and crowdfunding. By using WordPress CMS, we saved a lot of time for the journalists since it was a familiar platform. We are proud to have contributed to the development of independent journalism in Poland.
