# Transport & Travel

[Free consultation](https://wzor.biz/en/free-consultation/) [Projects](https://wzor.biz/en/projects/)

We design booking systems for airlines, coach operators and railways, hotel booking platforms and micromobility apps. We work with multi-parameter search, dynamic pricing, upsell at checkout (bags, seats, insurance) and loyalty programmes passengers use on more than just the day they travel.

We have worked with leading companies and startups

Challenges

## Booking, price and the journey in progress are three moments where the passenger decides on trust

- „The passenger picks a route, reaches payment and gives up.”

A UX audit of the booking journey with analytics (Adobe Analytics, GA4) and session recordings, basket redesign, prototype validation with real passengers. A/B tests of the key screens (seat selection, baggage, summary). We measure conversion step by step and the drop in calls to customer care about unfinished bookings.

- „The price changes between search and purchase and the passenger loses trust in us.”

Research into how real passengers perceive dynamic prices (power users and occasional travellers alike), redesign of how price is communicated in search and on the offer card. A clear “why this price, why now” instead of algorithmic magic. We measure the return-to-booking rate and NPS.

- „In the app store we collect ratings for things a design pass could fix.”

A UX audit of the app and analysis of support tickets, contextual research (how people use the app on the street, in noise, in a hurry), redesign of the critical journeys (payment, activation, availability map). We measure the store rating before and after, and the drop in support tickets.

Who it is for

## Ticket, stay, micromobility - three worlds, one passenger decision

Whatever the product - we hand over the design in a format a development team working with reservation systems, GDSs (Amadeus, Sabre), hotel distribution engines and payment integrations can read. We work both with in-house booking engines and with implementations on top of an existing backend.

- ### Booking systems for airlines and carriers

Multi-parameter search (date, destination, fare, baggage), a basket with upsell (seat, bags, insurance, transfer), managing the booking after purchase. Emphasis on communicating dynamic prices, the seat map and document validation. We measure AOV and step-by-step conversion, with the client’s e-commerce director taking part in the testing.

- ### Booking platforms for hotels, OTAs and tour operators

Accommodation and holiday search with a map, filters, guest ratings and dynamic pricing. An offer card optimised for scanning, a clear booking path without an account, and the processes around the sale (cancellation, changes, vouchers). We measure offer-card conversion, average time to decide and the cancellation rate.

- ### Micromobility apps and travel ecosystems

Apps for car sharing, scooter rental, EV charging, public transport tickets, navigation and trip planning. Readability on the move (an interface used on the street, in noise, in a hurry), one-tap payment, a map with real-time availability. We measure the app store rating and the drop in support tickets.

Process

## Five steps - from the first conversation to post-launch measurement

We scale the scope to the product. For airlines the emphasis is on the basket with bags, seats and insurance (AOV matters more here than conversion). For coach operators and railways - on a mobile purchase completed seconds before departure, and on ticketing under load spikes. For hotels and OTAs - on search, the availability map and A/B tests of the offer card. For micromobility (car sharing, EV charging) - on readability on the move and on eliminating payment errors.

1. 30 min

    ### Discovery call - 30 minutes

Online, with the lead designer. We get to know the product, the metrics you judge it by, and the regulatory context it operates in.

2. Week 1–2

    ### Audit and discovery

Analytics, session recordings, user interviews, heuristic review. The barriers people actually hit become design hypotheses.

3. Week 3–6

    ### UX/UI design

Wireframes, a prototype you can click through, the final interface. Documentation written for the team that will ship it - tokens, states and responsive behaviour included.

4. Week 6–7

    ### Validation

Tests with real users, or an A/B test in production. The design changes on the strength of what we saw, before it reaches code.

5. After launch

    ### Delivery and care

We work side by side with your developers - implementation review, fixes, additions to the library. After launch we measure and come back with the next hypotheses.

FAQ

## Questions that come up most often

Do you design integrations with GDSs (Amadeus, Sabre) and hotel engines?

Yes - we work both with in-house booking engines (coach operators, smaller airlines, independent hotels) and with implementations on top of off-the-shelf systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, hotel engines). We do not write the backend, but we hand over the UX design with integration documentation - edge cases (no availability, delayed fare sync, GDS outage) - so the development team has a clear contract.

How do you optimise the ticket purchase / hotel booking path (CRO)?

The starting point is usually an audit with analytics (Adobe Analytics, GA4) and session recordings. We identify the biggest leaks in the funnel, formulate design hypotheses and test them in A/B tests with statistical significance. No “testing for the sake of testing” - every test has a measurable goal: step-by-step conversion, AOV (baggage, seat and insurance upsell) or abandonment reduction. We have CRO projects that returned seven-figure annual revenue growth to clients.

Do you handle airline and hotel loyalty programmes?

Yes - passenger loyalty programmes today are not just points but an ecosystem (status, miles, lounge access, banking partners, personalised offers). We design apps where the user sees the value of the programme in a split second: how far to the next tier, how to spend miles, when the next flight is. We measure the return rate to the app during non-travel periods and the status activation rate.

Do you design micromobility and EV charging apps?

Yes - car sharing, scooter rental, EV charging, public transport tickets, journey planners. The specifics of this sector: the app is used on the move, in noise, sometimes under stress (a flat battery, the last minute before a train). We design for legibility on the move, one tap to pay, a map with real-time availability and recovery paths (what to do when a payment fails). We measure the app store rating before and after launch.
