# Retail & FMCG

[Free consultation](https://wzor.biz/en/free-consultation/) [Projects](https://wzor.biz/en/projects/)

We design loyalty apps for retail chains, click & collect tooling and omnichannel ecosystems. We work with points programmes, leaflets, coupons and the mechanics that make every return to the store measurable - offline and online alike.

We have worked with leading companies and startups

Challenges

## Loyalty, click & collect and the in-store till speak to the customer in one voice or in three

- „The loyalty programme has sign-ups, and a regular's basket looks exactly as it did before.”

Research with regular and occasional shoppers, redesign of the mechanics (points, coupons, mission-based rewards, a personalised leaflet), consistency across the app, the store and email. We measure cohort retention and the share of transactions made with a card.

- „Click & collect works, except customers keep choosing home delivery.”

An audit of the reservation and pickup journey, research into the “on the way home from work” context, redesign of availability messaging (real-time stock), a simpler in-store pickup. We measure the share of click & collect in total sales.

- „The POS apps in each country look like different companies built them.”

An audit of the interface portfolio, a design system tying the devices together (till, kiosk, back-office panel), a staged migration plan with no “big bang” rewrite. We shorten training time for a new cashier and reduce handling errors.

Who it is for

## Loyalty, omnichannel, POS - three pillars of retail, one customer relationship

Whatever the format - we hand over the design in a format the development team can read, with documentation for integrating POS, OMS, the loyalty programme and marketing automation systems.

- ### Loyalty apps for retail chains

Apps for grocery, drugstore and DIY chains with a points programme, a customer card at the till, personalised leaflets and coupons. The goal: retention, purchase frequency, and the share of identified customers at the point of transaction.

- ### Click & collect and omnichannel

Journeys that connect online with the physical store - reserving a product, picking it up at a point on the way, checking what is on the shelf, returning in store. Integration with OMS, real-time availability and picker routes.

- ### POS systems and cashier tooling

Till interfaces, self-service kiosks, panels for store staff. The specifics: hardware (touchscreens, printers, cash drawers), speed of service, a short learning curve for high-turnover staff, one consistent feel across devices.

Process

## Five steps - from the first conversation to post-launch measurement

We scale the scope to the product. For grocery chains the emphasis is on the loyalty programme and repeat orders. For drugstores and FMCG - on proactive replenishment baskets. For fashion and DIY - on click & collect, in-store product availability and reserving before pickup.

1. 30 min

    ### Discovery call - 30 minutes

Online, with the lead designer. We get to know the product, the metrics you judge it by, and the regulatory context it operates in.

2. Week 1–2

    ### Audit and discovery

Analytics, session recordings, user interviews, heuristic review. The barriers people actually hit become design hypotheses.

3. Week 3–6

    ### UX/UI design

Wireframes, a prototype you can click through, the final interface. Documentation written for the team that will ship it - tokens, states and responsive behaviour included.

4. Week 6–7

    ### Validation

Tests with real users, or an A/B test in production. The design changes on the strength of what we saw, before it reaches code.

5. After launch

    ### Delivery and care

We work side by side with your developers - implementation review, fixes, additions to the library. After launch we measure and come back with the next hypotheses.

FAQ

## Questions that come up most often

Do you design for POS, OMS and real-time stock integrations?

Yes - we run app design in the context of integrations with the chain’s operational systems. We have worked on projects where real-time availability, OMS and picker routes decide what the customer sees as collectable. We write documentation in a format that makes mapping the customer journey onto store operations easier.

How do you design loyalty programmes so they drive repeat visits?

Loyalty in retail is not the cherry on top, it is the foundation of retention. We design a coherent experience across the app, the till (card scanning), the promotional leaflet and personalised offers. We measure the share of customers logged in at purchase and cohort retention, not the number of card downloads.

Do you handle click & collect and omnichannel?

Yes - click & collect is not just a “collect in store” button. It is the whole path: product availability at the chosen location, a time-boxed reservation, a ready-for-collection notification, the in-store pickup journey (kiosk, reception, parcel point) and returns. We design each of those touchpoints, not only the storefront offer.

Do you also design POS interfaces and self-service kiosks?

Yes - POS design is a specific challenge: hardware (spill-resistant touchscreens, receipt printers, cash drawers), a short learning curve for the cashier, and a consistent feel across devices in many countries. We design for speed of service and for rotating staff, not for showroom aesthetics.
